Charizard, mega evolve toooo
OK, first off some rules, since sprites of new mons are most commonly targeted by art thieves, and I’ve been the victim of sprite theft before, its not fun:

Anyway, with that out the way -
MegaCharizard’s design is weird. Most XY pokemon are clearly designed to be viewed in 3D. Many of them, like Fennekin, Xerneas or MegaBlastoise often look silly or overdesigned in 2D but look amazing ingame. Megazard is the opposite; ingame it looks ungainly and bland, but in its Sugimori art and all its fan-art it looks amazing. What’s up with that?
My sprite here is somewhat idealised. In reality Charizard is quite small and MegaZard is the same height, but I’ve drawn him as if he’s massive. I’ve also drawn him flying upright, which he doesn’t do either. I wonder why… I’ve also drawn this completely from scratch. Pixeling over Sugimori art isn’t enough.
Bizarrely, despite usually being a Charizard guy I thing I’ll go with Venusaur in XY. People are giving MegaVenusaur a lot of trouble for just being “Venusaur with a flower on its head”, but I think it looks brilliant. The minor addition of more leaves and some vines on its back makes it look like its lugging a whole jungle around with it.
